"We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. "Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive," Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines said last month. Bethesda rolled out mod support for the PC and Xbox One editions of Fallout 4 but called off the functionality for the PS4 edition of the game, citing difficulties working with Sony. PS4 players were almost left out in the cold. In other words, you can only employ assets that come with Fallout 4 rather than custom files. Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit." There is one small caveat: only assets from Bethesda's proprietary Creation Kit can be used to build mods.
"We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible. Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition, which releases on October 28, will receive mod support on PS4 after all.
