Screamers were presented in-game as Infected humans bound in a restraining psychiatric-style straitjacket. As such, he is the progenitor of Special Infected like the Witch and Boomer.
The Worker is a Special Infected, he doesn't have any grapple or grab attacks, but he can use the hose that infused in his flesh to shoot fire or on rare occasions, Boomer Bile. The Screamer was a prototype for Special Infected formulated early in Left 4 Dead 's development. He wears a white tank top and brown shorts with black shoes. His left arm is more mutated and fleshy then the right arm. The Worker looks to be a cross between a Boomer and a Tank, he has a yellow construction hat and a tube going through his mutated flesh, the tip of it coming out of his arm. The Worker is an exclusively male infected and does not have a female counterpart like The Boomer. Appearance and history The worker looks like a construction worker from a construction area, it can be said that he suffered an accident and died and came back as a zombie and had a mutation that made his arm bigger and his back merged with a kind of weapon that gave birth to the worker
